A new lease for the same housing accommodation shall not be entered into unless (a) prior to the new lease being entered into, the date that the first lease has expired is given to all the tenants of the housing accommodation for at least three (3) calendar months, and, (b) the new tenant is registered in the local public housing office as having the ability to enter into a lease for the housing accommodation. If the tenants have not been notified, the new lease or a new tenant's registration must be entered into prior to the date the tenants have been given notice of the expiration of the lease and, if the tenants have remained on the housing accommodation on that date, they will be given a one (1) month's notice to vacate the housing accommodation by the first of the month following the expiration date of the lease.
